DTI Guimaras, LGU Jordan inspect weighing scales in market

The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office and the Municipality of Jordan, Guimaras joined hands in the conduct of inspection if weighing scales at the Jordan Food Terminal Market in Jordan, Guimaras are calibrated.

On March 4, the team spearheaded by the Municipal Treasurer Office, conducted the inspection to ensure that all weighing scales used in the conduct of businesses of retailers in the area are accurate and/or does not shortchange consumers.

Four teams were formed to carry out said inspection composed of the Philippine National Police, Municipal Treasurer’s Office and the DTI. It turned out that out of the 176 weighing scales inspected, seven (7) were defective.  The defective weighing scales were confiscated and turned-over to the Office of the Market Supervisor.
