DTI mentoring program to continue support MSMEs

The DTI VI will resume its mentorship program this year to further prepare local entrepreneurs develop their products and brands to become more competitive and to reach a wider market for their manufactured goods.

For its second year of implementation in the region, the “Kapatid Mentor ME” (KMME) program, will jumpstart with the KMME opening activity on March 22 in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

The identified mentees will undergo the 10-module entrepreneurial training in the succeeding weeks which include product development, marketing, operations management, accounting, taxation, finance, and obligations and contracts.

The mentors, also called angelpreneurs, will share their expertise to the mentees that will subject the latter to various business concepts and develop the understanding needed in scaling and sustaining their enterprises.

With KMME, the DTI hopes to bring in improved productivity for local enterprises, increased value-adding activities, and employment opportunities in the communities and in the region, as a whole.

The schedule of jumpstart in other provinces are: Province of Aklan – April 10; Province of Capiz – April 25; Province of Iloilo – April 26; Province of Antique – May 9; and, Province of Guimaras July 27.
