Consumer orgs discuss guidelines to increase consumer vigilance and protection

The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office and consumer organizations in the Province of Guimaras discussed the guidelines in increasing vigilance and protection affecting interest of every consumer.


Consumer organization head Ana Eva G. Villanueva was present during the meeting held at the DTI Guimaras Provincial Office in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras on April 27, 2018. The meeting tackled the guidelines, to wit:

a)      Department Administrative Order No. 17-07, Series of 2017 - Recognition of Consumer   Organizations
b)      Joint DTI-DA-DOE Administrative Order No. 17-01 - Amendments to Joint DTI-DA Administrative Order No. 02, Series of 2008 entitled:  Granting of Discounts to Persons with Disability on the Purchase of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities pursuant to R.A No. 9442,  otherwise known as the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons
c)      2018 World Consumer Rights Day Celebration
d)     Conduct of information drive in the barangays as part of increasing consumer vigilance and protection; and,
e)      Other consumer related activities like the conduct of Diskwento Caravan on October, and Pamasko Diskwento Caravan on December.
