An MSME from Antique is having a one-on-one consultation during the activity

Eighteen micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) underwent product assessment and consultation during the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Next Generation - Assessment, Consultation and Triage (ACT) session held at Days Hotel, Iloilo City on April 26 to 27, 2018

The program aims to level up and scale up the services and assistances provided for MSMEs.

In Region VI, a total of 40 MSMEs from the different provinces will undergo one-on-one consultation for branding, packaging and labeling with sought after consultants and experts for the food and non-food sector.

Two more ACT sessions will be held for the remaining MSMEs in Iloilo and Negros Occidental.

DTI Assistant Secretary Demphna Du-Naga, an OTOP champion herself, gave an inspirational message and encouraged the participants to brace innovations and to continuously seek on ways to expand their business.

Du-Naga also emphasized the presence of various market access opportunities that the DTI provides to help MSMEs promote their products such as trade fairs, Go Lokal!, and OTOP Philippines Hub.

Leon Flores III, OTOP National Program Manager, gave an overview of the project.

OTOP Philippines is a priority stimulus program for MSMEs as government’s customized intervention to drive inclusive local economic growth. The program enables localities and communities to determine, develop, support, and promote products or services that are rooted in its local culture, community resource, creativity, connection, and competitive advantage.
