Guimaras micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in processed fruits and nuts held a consultative meeting to review the activities relative to the conduct of the Guimaras Eco-Bazar and Manggahan Trade Fair 2018 at the DTI Guimaras Negosyo Center on June 22, 2018. A total of 10 MSMEs likewise discussed the One Town One Product (OTOP) Next Generation that showcases the best products of each municipality, application of the License to Operate with the Food and Drug Administration, and the Panubli-on Regional Trade Fair and National Fair 2018. DTI Guimaras to conduct financing forum for MSMEs

The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office will conduct a financing forum to the local MSMEs in the Province of Guimaras at the Casa San Miguel in the Municipality of Jordan on June 21, 2018. The forum will provide information on raising the capitalization for existing MSMEs. Representatives from the Lank Bank of the Philippines, Enterprise Bank, Small Business Advisory Corporation and Development Bank of the Philippines were invited to share their financing programs. A total of 25 MSMEs are expected to attend the said activity. With this activity, MSMEs are informed of the financing programs of these financial institutions that could pave way in coming up with competitive products, increased sales, more employment and increased investments once they availed of the financing program. DTI Guimaras briefs farmers on business licensing

The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office recently conducted a briefing on Business Licensing and other DTI program and services with farmers in the province. The activity was in collaboration with Provincial Office of Agricultural Services (POAS) of Guimaras. The briefing aims to impart to farmers the importance of DTI Business Name Registration and other necessary permits for their products to be competitive in the market. DTI launches Bagong Buhay Boracay Store

DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez leads the opening of the ‘Bagong Buhay Boracay’ Store at the DTI Bureau of Domestic Trade and Promotions (BDTP) Showroom - West Wing in Makati on May 31, 2018. The project aims to help MSMEs in the Province of Aklan access new markets for their products outside the province, due to the huge market impact on the closure of Boracay Island to foreign and local tourists, alike. The ‘Bagong Buhay Boracay’ Store features food products, wearables, fashion accessories, home decor, and other souvenir items from at least 21 MSME-exhibitors with 150 suppliers/sub-contractors affected by the temporary closure of Boracay Island. Other products of affected MSMEs engaged in arts and crafts will also be featured during the SIKAT PINOY National Arts and Crafts Fair (NACF) at SM Megamall on June 14 to 17. DTI VI conducts Skills Training on Waste Recycling in Boracay Island

DTI VI, in partnership with the Iloilo City Government, conducts Skills Training on Waste Recycling at Café Francisco, E-Mall Malay in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan on May 30 to June 1, 2018. A total of 45 participants were capacitated to turn recycled papers and doypacks/ juice packs into bags, jewelries/ paper beads and charcoal briquettes, giving them alternative source of income using available resources from the surroundings. The DTI has invited resource persons from the Iloilo City Government office through Ms. Salome Villamor of the General Services and from its assisted group, Uswag Calahunan Livelihood Association, Inc. DTI enjoins affected workers and MSMES to actively participate in the trainings, and to visit Negosyo Center Malay or the One - Stop Shop Operations Center at Eutotel Boracay for its upcoming trainings and support activities for the islanders.
