DTI VI conducts Skills Training on Waste Recycling in Boracay Island

DTI VI, in partnership with the
Iloilo City Government, conducts Skills Training on Waste Recycling at Café
Francisco, E-Mall Malay in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan on May 30 to June 1,
2018. A total of 45 participants were capacitated to turn recycled papers and
doypacks/ juice packs into bags, jewelries/ paper beads and charcoal
briquettes, giving them alternative source of income using available resources
from the surroundings. The DTI has invited resource persons from the Iloilo City
Government office through Ms. Salome Villamor of the General Services and from
its assisted group, Uswag Calahunan Livelihood Association, Inc. DTI enjoins
affected workers and MSMES to actively participate in the trainings, and to
visit Negosyo Center Malay or the One - Stop Shop Operations Center at Eutotel
Boracay for its upcoming trainings and support activities for the islanders.
