Academe embraces consumer advocacy programs
The DTI Guimaras recently
conducted an information drive with members of Consumer Rights Advocacy of the
Youth and Netizens (CRAYONS) Club of Simeon J. Jabasa National High School.
CRAYONS was
organized last year with students, teachers and parents as its members.
Since its
organization, the group has been an active partner of the DTI on its consumer
related activities. Ciara Alessandra D. Castillo is the club president while Karen
Castillo is the teacher-adviser.
This year, CRAYONS
wanted to reach more consumers in the barangay so that they can share information
for vigilance and protection.
Other schools in
the Province of Guimaras with DTI consumer advocate clubs are Jordan National
High School, Buenavista National High School, Sta. Teresa National High School,
Salvacion National High School, Cabalagnan National High School, Nueva Valencia
National High School, Supang National High School and Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava
Memorial National High School.
For schedules of information
drives in school, please contact DTI Guimaras Provincial Office at 0917-6263403 and 580-2119 and look for Melecia Pait. (Melecia U. Pait/ DTI Guimaras)
