Inspection team confiscates 20 weighing scales in Nueva Valencia



The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office and the Municipality of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras conducted a joint weighing scales inspection in the town’s barangays (villages) on June 25 and 27 and on July 3 to 5, 2018.
The activity was carried out to ensure that only accurate weighing scales are used by sari-sari stores especially those selling rice, and in the market selling fishes, vegetables, fruits, livestock and other poultry products.

A total of 20 villages were covered by the inspection, namely: Lanipe, Salvacion, Lucmayan, Pandaraonon, Dolores, Concordia, Tando, Oracon, Igdarapdap, San Antonio, Igang, Lapaz, Sto. Domingo, Calaya, Napandong, Magamay, San Roque, Cabalagnan, Pobalacion and Canhawan. 

Of the 212 weighing scales inspected by the team, 20 were found defective and were confiscated by the Municipal Treasurer’s Office. The team was composed of Municipal Treasurer’s Office, Philippine National Police and DTI. (DTI Guimaras/ Melecia U. Pait)
