DTI Guimaras monitors stores selling LPG

The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office has monitored stores and business establishments selling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the municipalities of Jordan and Buenavista. The activity was done to ensure that the LPG available in the market contain the required markings set by Bureau of Product Standards (BPS).  

Under the BPS, the LPG tank should contain a brand name, name of the manufacturer, address of the manufacturer, tare weight and Product Standard (PS) markings. There were eight stores monitored, namely: Iloilo Fairway Marketing, FBC Fuel Distribution, Inc., Southtrade Builders, Don-Don Marketing, New Guimaras Home & Agri Corp., Magic Gasoline Station in Jordan town; and, Iloilo Fairway Marketing and AJM Grocery Enterprises in Buenavista town.

The supply of LPG comes from the nearby Iloilo City. Delivery is dependent on the request of store owners. As of monitoring, prices of 11 kg LPG tank, prices area: Gasul, Php890.00; Solane, Php890.00; and, Phoenix, Php850.00/ (Melecia U. Pait/ DTI Guimaras)
