DTI holds consumer welfare regional quiz bee





Who will be this year’s regional consumer welfare quiz bee champion? 

Six schools from the province will vie for the Consumer Welfare Month Regional Quiz Bee champion. These schools were the winners of the provincial quiz bee contest conducted from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo and Negros Occidental.

More than P30,000 cash prizes await the winners plus medals and trophies.

The event will highlight this year’s theme, “Making Digital Marketplaces Fair.”

A team of three students from the winning school from the provinces will vie for the prize.

The regional winner will take home a cash prize of P10,000 plus medals and trophy, the second place will get P8,000 plus medals and trophy, third prize get receive P6,000 medals and trophy, and a consolation prize of P3,000 to non-winners.

This activity intends to educate and create awareness among consumers particularly the students and with the support of their schools. It will be a venue to students to improve or expand their knowledge and awareness of consumer welfare and fair trade laws and teammanship skills.

Aside from this, there was also a search for best advocacy program on consumerism which was conducted on the provincial level only where a team of secondary school students showcase their advocacy program on consumer welfare.
