Panublion,WV’s grandest fair, opens Nov. 13

Western Visayas’ grandest trade fair will unveil the wealth and treasure of the region from various industries here as the DTI VI brings the 2019 Panublion Heritage Fair at the SM City Iloilo from 10am to 9pm starting November 13 to 17, 2019.
With this year’s theme, “We Create. We move. We lead,” the exhibit echoes the efforts and assistance of DTI VI to MSMEs and resonates the marketing push that the agency is doing in terms of promoting the products.

The theme is inspired by the “bamboo grooves” as a symbol of resilience. Bamboo is also a symbol on our concern for the environment as it is regarded the best planting material for the National Greening Program.

Buyers are in for a treat from exhibit and retail of a wide range of merchandise on home lifestyle, furnishing, wearables, wellness, food and handloom textiles from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo and Negros Occidental.

The Panublion Heritage Fair is an annual event organized by the DTI VI, in cooperation with Negosyo Centers, OTOP NextGen (One Town, One Product Next Generation) and SM City Iloilo.

Aside from product exhibits, there will also be theme settings, design competitions, series of fora, crafts/ food demo and craft workshop for kids and teenagers, plus artisanal fashion runway presentations on Nov 13, 16 and 17.

Panublion, meaning “heritage” in Hiligaynon, describe the products being featured – the weaving of intricate piña and hablon, foods and delicacies, artisanal homegrown crafts or vines, bamboo, fibers, abaca and various local raw materials.

At least 160 SMEs will be featured with more than 350 products to highlight the initiatives of DTI VI on product development for the six provinces of the region under the OTOP Next Gen Program.
