DTI, DOLE inspect workplaces for prevention and control of Covid-19

The Department of Trade and Industry VI and the Department of Labor and Employment Region VI on Wednesday, June 3, have started monitoring the compliance of various establishments in Western Visayas on the interim guidelines on workplace prevention and control of COVID-19. 

Composite inspection teams, composed of DTI and DOLE personnel from the regional and provincial offices, checked on the compliance of establishments such as the wearing of facemasks, constant checking of temperature, and ensure that equipment and vehicles entering operation areas should undergo disinfection process, and physical distancing must always be observed outside the office or store premises, among others.

The inspection teams check on business establishments, manufacturing firms, and business process outsourcing companies.

The conduct of inspection shall be a continuous process until both agencies see a high degree of compliance to the guidelines.
