Online trade fair brings WV MSMEs over P1M sales

Nothing stops micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to promote their products and for the consumers to choose from, as online marketing has become the customary platform to link sellers and buyers from everywhere.

The recently concluded “Pasinaya: The One Town One Product (OTOP) Digital Market Showroom and Online Trade Platform,” brought in over P1Million in sales for the region’s food and non-food products.

The DTI staged the virtual trade fair from July 20 to 24. Western Visayas MSMEs generated a total of P1,109,095.25 from cash sales, booked sales and under negotiation transactions, as of July 30.

The Pasinaya was the first digital trade fair which served as a platform where buyers met, sourced, and connected to the best products of homegrown, regional exhibitors digitally using various showrooms on Zoom, a web-based video conferencing tool.

The DTI-Regional Operations Group initiated the online trade fair to digitally equip MSMEs and widen their market online as they embrace the digitalization and e-commerce in the new normal.

“Our MSMEs must adopt and embrace the new generation of trade fairs to maximize their potentials and connect with buyers through an internet-mediated ecosystem,” said DTI VI Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon.

Western Visayas MSMEs who participated were: Aklan – Buttons ‘N Things, Dela Cruz House of PiƱa, and Jocyl’s Food; Antique – Buhai, Laua-an Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Sibalom Bamboo Craft Makers, and Tobias Fornier Bamboo Crafters Association; Capiz – Apami; Guimaras – Mc Nester Food Products; Iloilo – Al Di Foods, Einars Natural Food Export, RJGM Corporation, Elsan Handicrafts, and Jeff Ticao Fashion Design; Negros Occidental – Muybien Ventures, MFK Agri Products and Technology, Satoca ARC, Tumandok Crafts, Ruby Shellcrafts and Arts, and Hacienda Crafts.#
