NC showcases services to OFWs in Antique


Antique Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) were apprised with the various programs and services of the DTI Negosyo Center (NC) in the recently concluded OFWs Summit held at The Venue on April 11, 2018.

Led by the Antique Provincial Government, in partnership with the DTI Antique Provincial Office, the participants were likewise acquainted with the loan assistance provided by provincial government to OFWs of up to P50,000.

Antique Gov. Rhodora J. Cadiao, in her message, had instructed Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC) Juliana O. Cepe to ensure that the needs of the OFWs are addressed. Cadiao reiterated that higher budget is to be allotted for the OFWs.

DTI NC Business Counselor Ma. Ines Garingalao, on the other hand, presented the programs and services offered by the NCs. A board was set up for OFWs to enlist in the trainings/ seminars/ learning sessions for 2018.

Further, a number of OFWs registered for a free seminar on Basic Entrepreneurship as this is a requirement for them to be granted of the financial assistance from the provincial government and the OWWA.

A total of 70 poultry and hog raisers enlisted for the Livelihood Training Program.

Those who are into food sector signified interest in attending the Food Safety Seminar, Bookkeeping and Visual Merchandising. While, those who are into agriculture showed their excitement for the Agri-preneurship Seminar.

Garingalao emphasized that the seminars are conducted for free in municipalities with Negosyo Centers. These are in San Jose de Buenavista, Sibalom, Hamtic, Patnongon, Valderrama, Tibiao, Pandan, Sebaste, Culasi, Libertad and Caluya. (DTI Antique/ Ma. Ines M. Garingalao)
