Can
the lowest rank in file employee be the boss of the agency, even for a day?
In
DTI Region VI, everybody is given the equal opportunity.
The
‘Bida Boss,’ a nonmonetary benefit project, is a program unique to the DTI
Region VI which gives the opportunity to all its employees to become the regional
head or “boss for a day.”
The
program, a brainchild of DTI VI OIC Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon, gives a
chance to all employees to experience how it is to be in the center and see how
the other employee works through a position change.
The
program is an on the spot recognition given to the identified top 25 percent
employees of DTI Region VI based on the Final Individual Performance Rating of
2016 performances of all its employees.
As
the ‘Bida Boss’ officer of the day, an employee immediately takes action on all
official communications and performs necessary functions of a regional director
except for signing documents.
Rascon
said that the program is part of the coaching and mentoring and offer employees
chances to grow in decision making and creativity; reward hardwork and dedication,
boost employee engagement and intervention; and boost teammanship.
Likewise,
the ‘Bida Boss’ program is also in line with the PRIME-HRM objectives of capacitating
manpower in preparation for eventual ascent to higher position in the organization.
