DTI upgrades facilities on wearables and bamboo processing in Capiz
The DTI VI recently
tuned-over around Php 4 million worth of facilities and equipment for the
upgrading of shared service facilities (SSF) on wearables and bamboo processing
in the towns of Dao and Dumalag, respectively.
DTI VI Asst.
Regional Director Ermelinda P. Pollentes led the turnover activity last March
15.
The SSF for Bamboo
Processing in Dumalag was a recipient of jointer planer, thickness planer, circular
saw, band saw, dust collector, single spindle molder with feeder, arm saw, bench
drill, wide belt sander, air compressor, laminating table press, kiln dryer, grinder
for planer knives, automatic linear sharping machine, and pressing machine with
an estimated cost of around P3M.
On the other hand,
the SSF on wearables in Dao was a beneficiary of a rotary printer, a computer
set, gartering machine, embroidery machine, high-speed sewing machine, button holer,
and an edging machine totaling to around P1M.
Both SSFs have the
local government units as the cooperator of the projects.
Pollentes expressed
optimism that with these facilities, the cooperators would be able to further
expand their consumer reach since they would have the capacity to produce more
products and provide efficient delivery of services.
“These machineries will
enable them to address the increasing and varied demands from their clients,”
she said.
In the second quarter,
the DTI Capiz Provincial Office will launch the SSFs on Capiz Innovation Center
with a total project cost of P10.4M with the Capiz LGU as cooperator and Spring
Valley Technology Corp. as the managing partner; and the Dairy Processing amounting
to P960,000 which will be housed in Capiz State University-Pontevedra Campus.
