MSMEs to craft business continuity and resilience plans
The
DTI-Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development and the Philippine
Disaster Resilience Foundation will capacitate micro, small and medium
enterprises (MSMEs) to ensure them for a continued and timely delivery of goods
and services even when calamities strike.
The
DTI VI initiated for the conduct of a three-day seminar workshop entitled, Promoting
Business Continuity and Resilience for MSMEs in Region VI, aimed to increase
awareness on Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Risk Reduction
Management.
The
activity will engage MSMEs in developing plans and strategies on how to
continue business operation and increase preparedness in the delivery of
services in the midst of disaster and calamities – and, eventually sustaining income
and preventing loses and other damages.
DTI
VI Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon said that the activity will help capacitate
MSMEs to be resilient during national calamities and disasters and embed in
their respective organization the culture of having a strategic BCM.
The
seminar workshop will be conducted on March 20 to 22, 2019.
