DTI VI files admin raps vs business firm

The DTI VI has filed formal charges for violation of DAO 2: S. 2007 (Product Standards Law) DAO 4: S.2008 and DAO 5:2008 and pursuant to R.A. 4109 in relation to Art. 77 of R.A. 7394 against two (2) branches of a business entity in Iloilo City for selling and/or offering for sale non-conforming products under mandatory product certification during the monitoring and enforcement conducted by DTI VI Monitoring and Enforcement Teams last March 28-29, 2019. The non-conforming products which included household electrical appliances (unbranded air-conditioning units, rice cooker, washing machine), sanitary wares (lavatories, toilet bowls) and electrical wirings (snap switches) have an estimated value of P466,000.00. Summons have been issued against erring business establishments.

DTI Iloilo OIC-Provincial Director Felisa Judith L. Degala checks the price of alcohol in one of the stores in Iloilo City. The DTI VI conducts regular price monitoring and availability of basic necessities and assists in the Department of Health in monitoring the availability and market of prices essential items like alcohol, face masks and other medical supplies. Basic food necessities in major trading areas abide by the suggested retail prices (SRP) following the price freeze imposed by the government based on the monitoring conducted by the provincial offices of the Department of Trade and Industry in Western Visayas.
